7. Philippines: Zit fuer mich zum Witergoh... / time for me to continue my journey...

Seid herzlichst gegruesst!

PS: HAPPY BIRTHDAY OMA. 90gi,...eifach unglaublich!

12 weeks ago I arrived here in Manila. From the very beginning I felt welcome and home. Meanwhile I could experience a lot of great things. I got to know so many awesome people. I'm very thankful that I could be here. I've enjoyed to get to know the kids. I loved to play with them, to sweat with them, to discuss with them and to work with them. They all managed to grab a spot in my heart *smile*. It makes me sad, when I think about what they had to go through. But it also makes me happy to see them in their new family. Most of the time they were happy and full of joy.

God is here in the Father's House the big number.1. And I believe, that it's him who heals the kids heart step by step. For me it was great to experience, what close relationship the kids have with God. (I could learn a lot from them). I often had to stun about all their talents and I wonder, what God's plan is for every single one of them.

I'm also curious about the way God has prepared for me *smile*. It will be a big surprise. At the 15. of December I'll fly to Kuala Lumpur, where I will stay four days. I have the chance to see one of my friends from the time I've spent on the Doulos. Afterwards I will head towards Phnom Penh. Mhhh... and what's coming next is still in God's hands. He knows *smile*. I will keep you informed what's going on in my life, but first I wish you all a great third Advent week. Enjoy! Love greetings...!

By the way: HAPPY BIRTHDAY OMA. 90 years old, this is just incredible...!

7. Philippines: Savanne(a) *smile*

A few weeks ago I got asked, if I like to paint the little boys room. Of course I confirmed, even though I never did something like this before. But thanks God I'm having a cousin who used to be a painter. He could give me important advices *smile*. Thanks Florian! I knew, this would be a huge project and it would take me weeks.
And I really worked the last few weeks nearly daily a few hours at this project. But I really enjoyed doing it. The boys could decide what I should paint. They wanted me to do a savanna, with lots of wild animals. Every boy could chose one personal animal, which I would paint next to their beds. In my sketch book I made a plan and than I started step by step restoring the whole room. It was a lot of work to prepare the working place every day again. As well in the evening I had to clean up every thing again, because the boys had to be able to sleep in their beds. But all the compliments of the boys and the sparkling eyes compensate for every single second of my effort. Now I hope they will enjoy their savanna to the full *smile*.

Us so Ort choemed d'Chind vom Father's House. 10 Gschwueschterti isch kei Selteheit.
From such places are the kids from the Father's House. To have10 silbings is quite normal here.

Z'erscht han ich mol d'Loecher gstopft *smile*.
The first thing I had to do is fill all the wholes.
Die alt Farbe haet me eifach um de Cheischt umegmolet.
De old paint was just around the cupboard.

After I've painted the ceiling, I started the grounding of the wall.
E helli Farb isch gwuenscht, so dass s'Zimmer nuem so dunkel schient.
They wanted me to choose a light color, so that the room won't be so dark anymore.

S'Abchlaebe vo allem haet amel au e Wieli duret.
To tape all the different parts was very time consuming.
Than after a lots of days I was finally ready to start with the real job.
Finally after I don't know how many hours. The final work!
The small boys are often a little hyper. Therefore I wanted to do the painting in a quiet stile.
Mis erschte Werk!
My frist work!
For this leopard I used around 8 hours.
De Gepard, s'schnellschte Tier vo de Welt.
A cheetah, the fastest animal in the word.
While painting I thought about how awesome this special animal is.
Leider haet de Beamer mit de Zit nuem moege.
Unfortunately after many hours of painting, the projector didn't work anymore.

Wenn ich laenger do waer, het ich no me Zit gha fuer so chlini Details *smile*.

7. Philippinen: Adventszit / Advent season

A few weeks ago it changed from monsoon into dry season. It nearly doesn't rain anymore. The months December, January and February count to the coldest time of the year. In the mornings it's around 23 degree. (For me the perfect jogging temperature, nearly little too warm already *smile*). The locals complain about the cold weather and walk around with long sleeves. The chilly temperature doesn't put me in Christmas mood. Also the Christmas decoration doesn't remind me of Christmas, my synapses connect it more with carnival. But happily I'm helping in a christian orphanage. Here I often hear in the devotions about the reason why we are celebrating Christmas.

D'Dekoration in eme Ichaufszentrum *smile*.

Alles isch sehr farbefroh.

I don't think, that here are people with a real Christmas tree.

Everywhere in the house you find some Christmas decoration.
Au de Chlaus isch do uf de Philippine noed so populaer.
Also the Santa Claus isn't that popular in the Philippines.

Dank de Leiterin vom Father's House, wo liedeschaftilch gern bache tuet, doef jede taeglich eis Guetzli us em Glas naeh. Mega cool.
Thanks to the leader from the Father's House, who loves to bake, everybody can take a cookie a day. I love it *smile*...

7. Philippines: ae krassi Frog / a tough question

Immer wieder spannend en Bsuech uf em Markt.
I love going to the market.

Min Lieablingsstand!
My most favorite stand.

Nearly every day I go to the market around the corner. There I mostly buy some fruits for my daily shakes *smile*. At the market I’m not a stranger anymore. The people there know my face and some of the people I even know by name. I love it to go to the colorful place were lots of people greet me with "good evening Miss". I always buy very delicious mangos (mhhh...masarap) and the sweet little bananas, which are so much better than back home.

Last Saturday a 11 year old girl came to me and started to talk. Her English counted just a few words, but still we found a way to communicate. As lot of other kids in her age, she’s having a job. She’s a dishwasher in a fast food restaurant. Every day she earns around 20 Pesos, this is approximately 45 Cents. She asked me, if I’m in the Philippines to adopt kids and even more concrete she asked me, if I could take her with me. I was very perplex, not ready for such a question and needed a few seconds before I tried to explain her, that this wouldn’t be possible.

7. Philippinen: 200 Taeg underwaegs / 200 days on the road

200 days ago I left home and started my trip. Since 11 weeks I'm helping in an orphanage in Manila. Soon I'll have to say goodbye. In a little bit more, than 1 week I'll continue my journey. Therefore I try to enjoy the days left as much as I can. I know, it won't be easy for me to leave, but on the other hand I'm also looking forward to the friends I'll meet next.
I wish you all a blessed Advent season.
